What's New FRIDAY??
Wow! Lot's going on around here.
I'm so glad it's Friday - this week I did an employee misconduct investigation, delivered two trainings to another agency, took CPR training, and participated in the pandemic flu prevention planning committee!
That was just work - at home I went to dinner at friend's house Monday night with a group of long-term girlfriends, attended a special Tuesday night coffee with WLS friends, and Wednesday a good friend of ours came over for dinner! Last night I was so tired jus****ched TV.
The weekend is somewhat booked, too, especially Saturday. No grass growing under my feet!
Weight loss continues each week, and I'm following the recommendations food, vitamins, calcium, water, and protein! Wish the lower half of my body would drop some, instead of just the upper half!
All is well, weather very mild for us right now, but promises to change next week!

Hi Nancy and everyone,
I'm new to the board. I think I came to visit once before but it was months ago and I "lost" the location, lol. Now I've bookmarked the board.
Nancy, you sure have had a lot of stress in the last couple of days! I'm so glad there is a room for your mom in what sounds like a really nice place. I hope my brother and I can find a nice place like that for our mom. I had a stress test before my surgery in April. I thought it was going to last forever and was so relieved that it was over fairly quickly. Hope you get good, positive results!
The biggest new thing on my day is going to see my niece in "Rent" at her college. I am so thrilled for her since this is her first major role since starting school there (I think she is in her junior year, not sure). She has to have two major roles in order to graduate with a degree in the performing arts. She has a lot of courage to do this role because there are many very conservative relatives, including her father and stepmother, and "Rent" is a very controversial play. Some of the family members refuse to go see it. We are going to support her.
Otherwise, I'm just hoping to have a nice, quiet weekend. I'll read on to see what other folks say and start to get to know people.

Good morning, Nancy and my OFFer's who were here already and those who have not been to chat yet.
Nancy, I am so glad that you got your mom into the care facility that you wanted. It really is good when places have pets around. The nursing home that mom was in had therapy dogs come in and the one looked like our Barney. Well, pretty much on a regular basis mom would tell them that they couldn't take that dog since it was her Barney. She was so confused but then she had Alzheimer's too. They use to let us take Barney and Britty in to see mom but Britty didn't like to go so we stopped taking her. But heck, Barney got a lot of attention and loved every moment of it so he wanted to go all the time.
I have a lot of baking to do today. I am going to make a bundt cake, chocolate chocolate chip muffins, blueberry muffins, pumpkin bread and banana bread. I have to go and get aluminum pans since I forgot all about those and they are a must. I am going to look for holiday saran wrap too while I am there. That would look pretty. The theme of the bazaar is "Share the Joy". We usually have a holiday theme but not this year. I love doing the church bazaar. It is just so much fun for me. Bill is coming down this evening and helping with the tables and everything and then he is coming in the morning with me to help me and of course shop the bazaar. He loves looking at all the crafts and such.
Nothing much else going on here. A bit on the boring side but I should be use to it by now. ha ha That is how most of my days go. Monday I have to go with my sister to her insurance (medicare) man. Things have done some changing and they have to find some other insurance for her. It won't be much since the insurance man is so good. I really like him.
I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers and good thoughts are going for everyone. I hope that you day just keeps getting better and better today. Spread the sunshine of your life to others around you and I will do the same.

Hi Nancy and all my OFF friends,
WOW Nancy, you need a nap! Glad your Mom will have a happy home.
Tonight I polish the silver and get the dining room ready to be set up. We have a breakfast counter so hubby and I never use the dining room. The women in hubby's family have always set a stunning table along with many other Thanksgiving traditions. Hubby's Aunt who is 86, and the only one left of their generation, is coming. So I try to make her happy by having everything the way they used to do it. I got a gold tablecloth with laser cut leaves in it at Christmas Tree Shop for $6.99. I can't wait to see it with the appliqued table runner.
I need to make a list to do that last grocery shop before. I'll be baking this weekend. I'm lucky, my employer lets us go at 2:00 p.m. on Weds. That's just about when the grandkids will be arriving - hubby took the day off.
So hubby really ticks me off. I asked him two months ago to fix some of the chairs who's dowels had come loose. He ordered the special glue. I reminded him again two weeks ago. Have the chairs been fixed yet? NO! I should let someone end up on the floor, but I won't. And guys wonder why we nag? Tonight he is going to be lamb-basted. I think I'll stack all the chairs in front of the basement door so he can't miss them when he goes down to his shop to tinker. What I should do is start to do it myself, that will really get to him. He'll immediately take it over.
We had a huge thunderstorm in the wee hours. The thunder woke me out of a sound sleep and the bed actually vibrated. The temperatures have been pretty mild though, around 55 degrees. A little rain but it's clearing.
Well I need to get myself over the to gym at work and get on the treadmill.
Hugs and good wishes to all.
Bev

Hi Nancy,
I'm so glad things are falling into place for your mother. Now maybe you can relax a little more once in a while.
I am finishing up my work week... school will be out all next week. I love that we get a week now...we used to just get Thursday and Friday off. Today is a crazy day at school, pumpkin pies and Thanksgiving activities abound. I'm going to test a little girl in a few minutes so that I can relax over the holiday feeling all caught up. I thought I was caught up but the resource teacher just came in and started the conversation with "OH, I forgot to tell you, you need to test this child." OHHHH- I'll get right on that!" LOL!!!
